ALEXANDRIA: Lillian R.
Barton, 94, of Alexandria died Friday, Feb. 12, 2010 in Community Hospital,
Anderson
after a sudden illness.
Lillian was born on
July 8, 1915 in Alexandria,
IN and was the daughter of Charles and Jenny
(Riall) Howerton. On September 10, 1932 she married George A. Barton who
preceded her in death in 2001.
Lillian was a retired
home maker and was a faithful member of the Church of St. Mary in
Alexandria.

Left to cherish her
memory are five sons, Harry Barton-Anderson, George A. Barton,
Jr.-Leesville, S.C., John (Judy) Barton-Anderson, James (Anita)
Barton-Alexandria, Patrick (Constance) Barton-Escionido, CA. Three
daughters, Marian Richardson-Alexandria, Shirley (CT) Ridenour-Strawberry
Plains, TN, Rita Copeland-Caycee, SC. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren
and 13 great-grandchildren.
Lillian was preceded in
death by her Husband, Gorge A. Barton, a daughter, Mary Ann Barton, three
brothers, Paul Howerton, Joseph Howerton, Tom Howerton.
A Mass of Christian
Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2010 at the
Church of St. Mary, Alexandria with Fr. Paul Cochran as Celebrant. Burial
will follow in the IOOF Cemetery, Alexandria. Friends may call at Whetsel
Funeral Service, Alexandria on Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00
p.m. With a Christian Wake Service at 5:00 p.m.
The family
requests memorials to the St. Mary’s Building Fund in care of the funeral
home. |
