Anna J. Dyer, 93 of Alexandria died Sunday, October 11, 2015 in Miller’s Merry Manor, Chesterfield after an extended illness.
Anna was born in Alexandria on Jan. 7, 1922 and was the daughter of Kenneth and Bessie (Ritter) Knotts On June 3, 1939 she married the love of her life, Robert “Bud” Dyer. At the time of his death they had been married 66 years.
Anna was a retired Beautician.
She is survived by her daughter, Sheila (John) Huffman of Alexandria, six grandchildren, Valerie (Herb) West of Muncie, Russell (Debra)Grooms of Muncie, Michelle (Kent) Davis of Muncie, Brandal (Kyleigh) Huffman of Anderson, Bronson (Amber) Grooms of Bradenton, FL, Melissa (Jim) Proctor. 14 great grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sister-in-laws, Mary Murray and Pat Landis.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert “Bud” Dyer , daughter Sue Grooms and a son, Dennis Dyer, two grandchildren, Angela Dawn White and John Huffman, Jr.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. in the Gardens of Memory Chapel in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery north of Muncie. Burial will follow the service.
