Anna Maddox

March 9, 1927 — June 7, 2016

Anna J. (Jackie) Maddox, 89 of Marion died Tuesday at the Wesleyan Health Care Center, Marion after an extended illness.
Anna was born in Summitville on March 9, 1927 and was the daughter of Thomas and Margaret Hendricks. She later married Harold R Maddox who preceded her death in 1995.
Anna was a member of the Bible Wesleyan Holiness Church in Summitville. She retired from Colonial Oaks Nursing Home, Marion where she work in the Dietary Dept. Anna also had been employed by several restaurants in the Grant and Madison Counties.
Anna was a great cook and along with her husband she enjoyed gardening and camping trips to Michigan.
Survivors include her son, Mike (Patricia) Maddox, a sister, Mary Jane Smith and her grandchildren, Steven Maddox, Daniel (Leslie) Maddox, Rayanna Maddox and two great-grandchildren and one of the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two sons, Harold Maddox, Jr. and Steven Maddox.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 13, 2016 at Whetsel Funeral Service, 1503 S Park Ave., Alexandria with Bud Whetsel officiating. Private interment service will follow in Vinson Memorial Park Cemetery, Summitville. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
