Barbara Ethel Foster. 76 of Alexandria went to be with her Lord and Savior on Aug. 4, 2021, at her residence in the accompany of her loving family.
Barbara was born in Alexandria, IN on Jan. 17, 1945, and was the daughter of Olan Otis and Lena Mae (Young) Cox. She later married Benjamin Lewis Foster, Sr. on Oct. 9, 1966, he preceded her in death on Apr. 19, 1998.
She was a retired home maker. Barbara was a loving and caring mother, granny and gigi and enjoyed spending time with her family and crocheting. Barbara was a talented musician and always loved traveling to different churches singing southern gospel music with the Children of God Southern Gospel Group.
Left to carry on her legacy of love, are her children; Son-Dean (Susanna)Foster and their children Dean Foster, Cheyenne Foster and Brandon Foster ; Daughter- Corina Foster and her children, Nikki Hendrick and her children, Nova and Charlie, Jake (Alison) Hendrick and their children, Hali, Denae’, Dexter and Buckley, Daughter-Trucie Petty and her children, Shane (Alecia) Waters and Joshua Waters; Daughter-Barbara Savage, and her child, Josiah Savage; Son-Benjamin L (Mandi) Foster, Jr. and their children, Kaitlin L (William) Martin and their children, Bently, Elizabeth, Brayan and Aleah, Kaylynne (Dallas Phipps) Ehmer and their daughter, Blakeleigh, Breanna (Trevor Brane) Ehmer, Jessica Brenner. Also surviving is her special uncle, Johnny (Darlene) Foster. Also surviving are her sisters, Rose (Phil) Lawrence and Doris Gardner.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Benjamin L Foster, Sr. and grandchild, Bailey Greene and brothers and sisters.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 7, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. in Whetsel Funeral Service, Park Ave. Chapel, 1503 S Park Ave., Alexandria with Rev. Johnny Foster officiating. Interment will follow in the IOOF Cemetery, Alexandria. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
The Family has requested memorial donations to made to the Professional Firefighters of Alexandria Local 1649., 212 S. Harrison St. Alexandria, IN 46001 or in care of the Funeral Home.
