Carolyn Aldridge

Carolyn Joan Aldridge, 86 of Alexandria died Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2016 in Community Northview Care Center after an extended illness.
Carolyn was born on June 3, 1930 in Alexandria and was the daughter of Charles and Audrey (Porter) Lee. On Mar. 23, 1950 she married Fred J Aldridge who preceded her in death on Dec. 2, 1986.
Carolyn was retired from Leewin’s Flowers and Greenhouse in Alexandria.
She was a member of the Alexandria First Baptist Church, Alexandria Home Economics Club and a 70 year member of the Smilette Club.
Left to cherish her memory are children, Rodney (Bernadine) Aldridge of Alexandria, Stanley (Kathy) Aldridge of Bloomfield, Cynthia (Bob) Garcia and Susan (Chris) Fairchild both of Anderson. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Megan Fairchild, Forrest Fairchild, Raymond Aldridge, James Aldridge, Angela Garcia Miller, Allison Raglin, Adam Garcia, Melissa Miller, Jennifer Eldredge, Sarah Aldridge and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Fred Aldridge and a sister Wilma Ruth.
Funeral services for Carolyn will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in Whetsel Funeral Service, Alexandria with Rev. Cliff Richardson and Rev. Michael Deutsch officiating. Burial will follow in Park View Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Alexandria First Baptist Church, 2107 S Park Ave., Alexandria, IN 46001 or in care of the funeral home.
