Dannie Davis

Dannie Lee Davis, 81 of Alexandria/Orestes died on Tuesday, Mar. 16, 2021 at his residence after an extended illness while surrounded by his loving family.

Dannie was born in Elwood, IN on Jan. 27, 1940 and was the son of Phillip F. and Lillian F (Waymire) Davis. On Dec. 3, 1982 he married Paula (Hensley) Davis.

He was retired from ABB/Westinghouse in Muncie where he worked in the maintenance department. . Dannie served his country in the Indiana National Guard.
Dannie love to ride motorcycles. He was a member of 2 Wheel Motorcycle Club and the Orestes Baptist Church.

Dannie was a good husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 38 years Paula, his children; Carletta (Curtis) Ruff, Leah Bell, Brandy (Ron) Wagner, Kim (Chad) Van Horn, Penny Stokes, Wendy (Andy) Etherington, Tom (Leslie) Davis; a brother, John Davis; sisters, Pat Rush and Karen(Jim)Walden. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Shelbi Etherington, Kelsi (Brandon) Folsom, Dustin Wagner, Kasey Wagner, Kirsten Van Horn, Maura Van Horn, Nick Stokes, Megan Stokes, Nathan (Holly) Scott, Staci (Brandon) Gillespie, Brian (Alisha) Jackson, Craig (Amanda) Jackson, Caylie Davis, Amber (Austin) White and Breanna Kelly; great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Delanee, Morgan, Kinley, Charlie, Rosa Lee, Aiden, Raleigh, Memphis, Paisley, Anderson and Ally.

A memorial service to celebrate Dannie’s life and legacy will be held on Friday. Mar. 19, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. in Whetsel Funeral Service with Rev. Courtley Granger officiating. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Friday.
