Idabelle Cox

Idabelle H Cox, 83 of Alexandria died Thursday, December 19, 2013 in St. Vincent-Mercy Hospital, Elwood after an extended illness.
Idabelle was born in Summitville, IN on March 28, 1930 and was the daughter of William and Iva G. (Hardcastle) Hazelbaker. She married Joseph R. Cox, who preceded her in death in 1983.
Idabelle was retired from Delco-Remy of Anderson. She was member of the First Baptist Church of Alexandria, Anderson Women Bowling Assn. where served as 3rd Vice-President for 18 years, WIBC, Eagles Lodge Aux.-Alexandria, American Legion Aux.-Frankton, she was the financial secretary of UAW Local 662 Retirees, Delco-Remy Bowling League for 42 years and Local 662 Bowling League for 47 years. Idabelle was inducted into the Women’s Bowling Hall of Fame and had received numerous bowling awards.
Survivors include her two sons, Randy Cox and Paul (Kathleen) Cox, two daughters, Connie (Tom) Rascoe and Beverly Sanqunetti, a sister-in-law, Sara Hazelbaker. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, Chris Rascoe, Sam Rascoe, Andy Rascoe, Tom Kollros, Bo Kollros, Meredeth Cross, James Rascoe, Rob Cox, Joe Cox, Dustin Cox, Paul Cox, Rande Devine, Nicole Oxley and CJ Sanqunetti and several great and great-great-grandchildren and special friend and caregiver, Steve Sanqunetti.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joseph R. Cox, two brothers, William Hazelbaker and Basil Hazelbaker.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m in Whetsel Funeral Service, Alexandria with members of the family officiating. Burial will follow in Vinson Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
