John Krieg

John L. Krieg, 65 of Anderson died Saturday, July 16, 2022, in Ascension St. Vincent’s Anderson Hospital, Anderson, IN after a brief illness.

John was born in Anderson on December 18, 1956, and was the son of the late John D and Roberta J (Ross) Krieg. After high school he attended Ivy Tech Community College.

He was employed as the Facilities Manager for the McClain Museum in Anderson. For many years John had an interest and a gift for funeral service and through the years had worked at several funeral homes, including Whetsel Funeral Service where he served as a Funeral Assistant.

John was a man with vast abilities and talents. He was a collector of all kinds of memorabilia with a special interest in military equipment. He was extremely smart in mechanical problems and could fix anything. He was known for his quick-witted mind and his willingness to help those in need. John was a man of strong faith in God and practice it in his daily life.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving companion of over 20 years, Candance “Candy” Sylvester of Anderson. He is also survived by a host of special friends and cousins.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John D., and Roberta J Krieg.

A service to celebrate John’s life will be held on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in Whetsel Funeral Service, Park Ave. Chapel, 1503 S. Park Ave., Alexandria with Bud Whetsel as celebrant. Interment will follow in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
