Karlene S Handy, age 79, of Elwood died Thursday, April 25, 2019 at home in Elwood. Karlene was born January 7, 1940 in Logansport, IN. and was the daughter of the late Melvin and the late Mary Fry (Wilson) Fry.
She was a member of the Church of the Heartland, Winamac, IN where she volunteered regularly.
Karlene always enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She love doing crafts, reading , puzzle books, baking and cooking for her family.
She adored rabbits.
She had been employed by Singer Control before her retirement.
Left to carry on her legacy of love are her three daughters: Deidre (Doug) Girton, Debbie (George) West and Kimberly Handy, and two sons: Gary ( Chris) Handy and Roy (Donna) Handy. She also has eleven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two grandchildren, Stephanie Thompson and Brittany Swegman.
A celebration of Karlene's life will be held on May 4, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the Church of the Heartland, 890 St. Rd 14, Winamac, Indiana 46996. Friends may call at the church from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
