Kathryn Lakey

Kathryn Lakey, 95 of Anderson went to be with her Lord and Savior on Aug. 14, 2012 while surrounded by her family at the Community Northview Care Center.
Kathryn was born in Anderson, IN on June 14, 1917 and was the daughter of Thomas and Clara Ashby. On Jan. 13, 1936 she married Gerald Lakey who preceded her death on Feb. 20, 2001.
Kathryn was a loving and caring Mother and Grandmother to her family. She was a faithful christian lady who lived her life as an example of God’s grace. She missed attending church at the Florida Station Church of God where she was a member.
Left to cherish her memory is her son, Jerry Lakey, Anderson, her six grandchildren, Bud (Susan) Whetsel of Alexandria, Brenda (Chuck) Stratton of Indianapolis, Dennis (Tami) Lakey, Jeff (Bee) Lakey, Starla Eaglin and Stacy (Norman) McMillian all of Anderson. Also surviving are 12 great-grandchildren, 15great- great-grandchildren.
A service to celebrate Kathryn’s life will be Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the Florida Station Church of God, 1025 W. 375 N, Anderson with Rev. Jerry Hilligoss officiating. Interment will follow in Anderson Memorial Park. Friends are invited to call at the church on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
In leiu of flowers memorials may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation, Gift Processing Center, P.O. Box 5018, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5018 or in care of the funeral home.
