Marilyn Gosnell

Marilyn J. (Fuller) Gosnell, 81, of Alexandria died Thursday, December 19, 2013 in St. Vincent’s Regional Hospital of Anderson after an brief illness.

Marilyn was born in Alexandria on January 22, 1932 and was the daughter of Merlin R. and Violet V. (Roach) Fuller. She married Lestes Armitte Gosnell on December 23,1950 and he preceded her in death on March 3,2005.

Marilyn was a well known Alexandria businesswoman. She was semi-retired as the co-owner of Hi Top Enterprises in Alexandria. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Alexandria. She was a member of Tri Kappa Sorority, 50 year member of the Eastern Star Chapter 179 and Women’s Democrat Club.

Survivors include her two sons: Matthew (Karen) Gosnell and Jacob (Denise) Gosnell, her daughter Marcie Gosnell, Sister in law, Sally Fuller, special friend Patty Lewis Esmon, Aunts, Margaret Gosnell and Elizabeth Roach. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Paisha (John) Thomas, Benjamin (Whitney) Gosnell, Victoria V. Gosnell, great granddaughter , Anzlee Thomas and several nieces and nephews. Her special four legged friends, Sweetie, Beauty Queen, Pretty, Honey Bun, Daisy Mae whom she cherished.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brother, Richard Fuller.

Funeral services will be Monday, December 23, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. in the First Christian Church, Alexandria with Rev. Julia Bratton officiating. Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery, Alexandria . Friends may call at Whetsel Funeral home on Sunday from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. And one hour prior to the services on Monday at the church.
