We lived next door to the Fields all thru our School years. Gwen & I used to walk to School with Becky every day & spent many wonderful times together. I remember one time in particular when Becky & I were pretty young ( I believe it was before we were in grade school) we decided to walk to town together. Of course we were to small to walk by ourselves to town but that didn't stop us. We were probably just a few blocks from home when a friend of our family saw us and knew that we weren't suppose to be that far from home by ourselves. They tried to get us to get in the car to take us home but we refused, so they had to drive to our houses & tell our families where we were. I don't remember who it was that came and got us but I remember we didn't get in as much trouble as we normally would have ,because our parents realized that even though we had done something wrong by walking to town in the first place, we had done something right by refusing to get in the car of the person who knew our parents. Our saving grace was that we didn't get in the car, because we had been taught to never go with someone we didn't know & because we didn't know the names of these people we refused to go with them. Whew, that was a close one. Becky was a wonderful friend & we will miss her. Gail (Reding) Shinholt
