Sue Ann Bennett of Alexandria died Saturday, December 24, 2011 at her residence following an extended illness.
Sue was born on Aug. 28, 1929 in Indianapolis, IN and was the daughter of Dr. John and Dorthea (Shafer) Carpenter. On Nov. 9, 1991 she married Damon Joe Bennett who survives.
Sue was a 1947 graduate of Alexandra-Monroe High School. She also was a graduate of Ward Belmont Junior College and Indiana University.
Sue was a Homemaker. She was an avid nature and animal lover and enjoyed gardening.
Left to cherish her memory is her Husband, Damon Joe Bennett, a Daughter, Kim Bridwell (Cliff) Terry of Alexandria and Daughter-in-law, Denise Bridwell of Alexandria. Also surviving are six Granddaughters, Cristin Bridwell, Brittney (Ronnie) Bott, Megan Bridwell, Cortney Bridwell,and Colleen Terry of Alexandria and Three Step-Grandsons, Chris (Bobbie) Terry of Howell, MI, Jesse (Abby) Johnson and Chris Johnson both of Noblesville. Also three Great-Grandchildren, Caleb and Carson Bott and Fayte Bridwell.
She was preceded in death by her Parents; also her Son, Brent C. Bridwell on Dec. 18, 2011.
Funeral Services will be Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in Whetsel Funeral Service, Alexandria with Dr. Norman Parr officiating. Burial will follow in Vinson Memorial Park Cemetery, Summitville. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Community Home Hospice or the Madison Co. Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Sue’s caretakers, Dawn Hoggard, Autumn LaMar, Hillary Cook and special friends Norm and Mary Parr.
