Susan Johnson

August 12, 1946 — July 5, 2012

Susan J “ Susie” Johnson, 65 of Alexandria died peacefully after her courageous fight with cancer on Thursday, July 05, 2012 at her residence.
Susie was born in Anderson, Indiana on Aug. 12, 1946 and was the daughter of Alva C. and Alice (Miller) Boyer. On Dec. 9, 1962 she married Danny L. Johnson.
She was retired from the Excello Corporation, Elwood and a member of the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church, Anderson.
Susie was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 49 years, Danny L. Johnson, two daughters, Julie (John) Bivens of Anderson, Joni (Chris) Allen of Alexandria, four grandchildren, Brandon Key, Brittney Key, Colin Allen and Suzi Bivens. Also surviving are a brother-in-law, Ralph Patterson and sister-in-law, Nancy Paddock both of Alexandria and several nieces and nephews.
She is was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Harry Johnson, two sisters, Sally Patterson, Tonya Fuller and a granddaughter, Alice Bivens.
A service to celebrate Susie’s life will be held on Monday, July 9, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in Whetsel Funeral Service, Alexandria with Pastor Jamey Moore officiating. Cremation will follow. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Sunday, July 9, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the requests memorials to the American Cancer Society, 1340 N. Madison Ave., Anderson, IN 46011 or in care of the funeral home.
