Brent Carpenter Bridwell, 55 of Alexandria died Sunday, Dec. 18 2011 at his residence after an extended illness.
Brent was born in Muncie, IN on March 20, 1956 and was the son of Gilbert and Sue (Carpenter) Bridwell. On April 29, 2008 he married Denise (Racine) Bridwell.
Brent was a graduate of Alexandria-Monroe High School. He revived his Associates Degree from Vincennes University his Bachelor Degree from Purdue University and his Masters Degree from Ball State University. He retired in 2007 as an Industrial Arts teacher at Madison-Grant High School. Brent had taught school for 24 years prior to his retirement.
Brent was an avid outdoorsman, he love to attend to his bees and just enjoyed all of nature and its beauty.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Alexandria and the Indiana Bee Keepers Assn. And the Eagles Lodge 1771 in Alexandria.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Denise, his mother, Sue (Joe) Bennett-Alexandria, two step-sons, Jesse (Abby) Johnson and Chris Johnson both of Noblesville. Four daughters, Cristin Bridwell, Brittney (Ronnie) Bott, Megan Bridwell and Cortney Bridwell of Alexandria. One sister, Kim (Cliff) Terry of Orestes and one niece, Colleen Terry. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Caleb Bott, Carson Bott and Fayte Bridwell.
Brent was preceded in death by his father, Gilbert (Gib) Bridwell.
A service to celebrate Brent’s life will be Thursday, Dec. 22, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church of Alexandria, 116 W. Broadway, Alexandria with Rev. Jean Brindel officiating. Burial will follow in Park View Cemetery. Friends may call at Whetsel Funeral Service, Alexandria on Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Indiana Bee Keepers Assn., Young Bee Keepers Award, ATT: Debbie Seib, 7784 N Sanctuary LN, Mooresville, IN 46158 or in care of the funeral home.
