Donna Cox

Donna M. Cox, 88 of Alexandria died peacefully at her residence on Sunday, Jan. 29, 2023.

Donna was born on Aug. 23, 1934 and was the daughter of Homer R. and Flossie (McCarty) Smith. On Mar. 19, 1955 she married Lewis D Cox who preceded her in death on July 4, 2016.

Donna had attended the Orestes Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting and doing arts and crafts activities.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Darrel D. Cox, Della (Harold) Lovett and Deborah (Tim) Stone. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Heather ( Pete) Redder, Whitney Cox, Brandon Cox, Chance Stone, Megan Stephens and Erin Bargas; and great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Owen Cox and Bryant Cox.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis D Cox, a son, Dannie Cox, two brothers, Herbert Smith and Denny Smith, a sister, Laurel Belle Cox

Funeral services for Donna will be held on Friday, Feb. 3, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in Whetsel Funeral Service, Park Ave. Chapel, 1503 S Park Ave., Alexandria, IN. with Rev. Shirley Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Elwood, IN. Visitation will be on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
