Gertrude Ulicne

Gertrude J. (Trudy) Ulicne, 86 of Anderson died Jan. 18, 2018 in Community Hospital, Anderson after a sudden illness.
Trudy was born in Republic. PA on May 24, 1931 and was the daughter of Stephen and Sadie (Kozma) Golembiewski. On July 4, 1953 she married John R. Ulicne.
Trudy was a member of the Church of St. Mary’s and the Daughters of Isabelle. She was a graduate of Beauty Land Cosmetology School and was a self-employed beautician and also worked as a cashier for A & P Grocery before she retired.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 64 years, John R. Ulicne her sons, John (Linda) Ulicne and Mark (Sandi) Ulicne, a sister, Margee (Gerry) Kasper. Also surviving are her grandchildren, John C., Alena andNadia, her great-grandchildren, John R. and Alyssa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Steven and Walter Golembiewski, four sisters, Regina Mazur, Dorothy Fusiwski, Josephine Rozak and Rose Stepanowski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. in the Church of St. Mary’s, 805 W. Madison St., Alexandria with Fr. Dan Duff as Celebrant. Interment will follow in the VA National Cemetery, Marion. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the requests memorials are made to the St. Mary’s Church Building Fund. Donation envelopes will be available at the church.
