James Dale Smith

James Dale Smith, 73 of Summitville, Indiana died on June 6, 2025, in IU/Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie after an extended illness.

Born in Franklin, KY on April 12, 1952, he was the son of James David and Mavie Ruth (Coker) Rudbeck. He later married Sherri Lynn (Whitson) Smith.

Dale retired from Butz Lumber Co., Indianapolis after 30 years as a lumber estimator.

He was an avid golfer and enjoyed gardening.

He leaves behind his wife, Sherri, his children; Adriann Smith, James Smith, Jarrod Smith and Erin Taylor Krieg; a brother, Darrell Smith; sisters, Dotie (Jimmy) Timbrook, Denise (David) Schmaltz, Dawn (Rusty) Woods and Karen Simpson. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Aubrey Arms, Jocelyn Smith, Joseph Askerzada, Charlie Askerzada, Addsion Smith, Zona Krieg, Zaydee Krieg, Zyler Krieg, Layla Smith, Lucus Smith.

Cremation was chosen and a Celebration of Life service will be held later.
