Jeffrey Jones

Jeffrey “Jeff: Dale Jones, 60 of Alexandria died on Saturday, Aug. 26, 2023 after extended illness while in the company of his loving family.

Jeff was born in Anderson, IN on Oct. 1, 1962, and was the son of Harold “Stub” and Barbara (Mack) Jones. On May 25, 1985, he married Melodie (Cox) Jones. He was a graduate of Alexandria-Monroe High School Class of 1981.

Jeff had been employed as store manager for several area Harvest Market stores, including the Alexandria store.

He was an avid fan of the Indiana Hoosiers and the Indianapolis Colts and all things football. Whenever he saw a big storm coming, he would get excited and load up the family and chase the storms. Love being outdoors and had a blog on Facebook for a while called the “On the Front Porch with Jeff”. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Left to continue his legacy of love is his wife, Melodie (Cox) Jones, his daughters, Heather (T.J.) Morrow, Hollie (Rodney Baker) Jones and Hali (Ashley) Jones; a brother, Billy Joe Jones; Alesia (Greg Porter) Hinton and Emily Neal. Also surviving are ten grandchildren and several uncles, aunts and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, Aug. 31, 2023, at the Whetsel Funeral Service, Park Ave. Chapel, Alexandria from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A graveside service will be conducted for Jeff on Sept. 12, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. in Park View Cemetery, Alexandria.
