John Shanley

Joe Shanley, 88 of Alexandria died on Friday, Dec. 8, 2023, in Northview Health and Living, Anderson after an extended illness.
Joe was born in Steubenville, OH on October 20, 1935, and was the son of Jenny Wilson and Joseph A. Shanley. He was married to the love of his life, Barbara, for 63 years.
He had been a member of the Alexandria Elks Lodge #478, the Anderson Indiana Rotary Club, and the Madison County Chamber of Commerce. He had a long and fulfilling career in Broadcasting (Radio and Television) that began in 1954 through his retirement in 2003.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Joann (Drew) Bussen. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, his nieces and nephew, Nancy Garcia, Diana (Phil) Reismiller, Bud Richardson and a cousin, Carol (Mark) Teaff-Oberman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Barbara, a son, Joseph R. Shanley, and a daughter Lisa Buck.
The burial of Joe’s cremains will take place in the Fort Steuben Burial Estates, Steubenville, OH at a later date.
