Joseph Short

Wayne Short, 57of Anderson died July 11, 2013 at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Indianapolis after an extended illness.

Wayne was born on July 3,1956 in Anderson and was the son of Franklin and Helen (Tacket) Short. On Nov. 8, 1997 he married Elizabeth (Stephenson) Short. Wayne was retired from the City of Anderson Street Dept.

Wayne was a member of the Rhema Word Church, Anderson and had a special interest and passion for classic cars and Harley Davidson motorcycles. Wayne always enjoyed drinking a cold iced tea and watching old westerns on TV and movies.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Liz Short, a son, Billy (Victoria Sigler) Edwards, two daughters, Ashley (Trevor) Dailey and Jamie Edwards all of Anderson. His twin sister, Brenda Jane Lucas of Muncie. A sister in law, Rena Short and brothers and sisters in law, Mike and Phyllis Wilson and Joey and Lisa Auler. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Blake Cody, Corbin M. Dulin, Skyler Buck, Keagan Dailey, Laynie Dailey and N. Kya Dulin and several nieces and nephews.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, a step-father, Ivey Redman, a brother, Denny Short.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. in the Rhema Word Church, 4100 S Main St. Anderson with Revs. Marcus Cooley and Jamey Moore officiating. Cremation will follow. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed the Rhema Word Church, 4100 S. Main St., Anderson, IN or in care of the funeral home.
