Joyce Louise Fisher, age 83, of Alexandria, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana.

Joyce was born on October 11, 1942, in Anderson, Indiana, to Sherman Phillips and Virginia (Baker Phillips) Smock. She graduated from Anderson High School in 1960 and later married Larry E. Fisher in 1965.

Joyce was a talented arts and crafts designer who enjoyed sharing her creativity with others. She was often found at vendor fairs throughout the area, where her handmade items were enjoyed by many. She was especially known for her cornhole bags, which reflected both her skill and her love for creating something useful and special.

Joyce also had a deep love for cats. Her favorite companion was Buddy, who brought her joy and friendship for more than 20 years.

Joyce is survived by her children, Cat (Larry "Red" Hiday) Fisher, Mark (Christy) Lightfoot, Joe Fisher, Tom Fisher, and Jim Fisher; grandchildren, Jake Lightfoot, Larry Hiday, Robert Hiday, J.D. Fisher, Paul Fisher, Lindsay Fisher-Sveum, Brittany Saxon, and Brandon Fisher; several great-grandchildren; and sister, Sandra Dietzer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sherman Phillips and Virginia Smock; and her husband, Larry Fisher.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Community Center at Redbud Estates, 1800 West 38th Street, Anderson, Indiana.

Private cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Whetsel Funeral Service, 1503 South Park Avenue, Alexandria, Indiana. Burial will take place at a later date at Maplewood Cemetery, 200 College Drive, Anderson, Indiana.

Bud and Susan Whetsel, along with the entire Whetsel Funeral Service staff, are honored to care for the Fisher family during this time.
