Lester Bernard Barrett

Lester Bernard Barrett, age 95, of Alexandria, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at his residence.

Lester was born on September 7, 1930, in Wabash, Indiana, to Raymond and Katherine (Mahoney) Barrett. He married Nora Shea, and they shared many years of marriage together.

Lester worked for Delco Remy in Anderson until his retirement in October of 1995. He was also a faithful parishioner of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Lester is survived by his sister, Patty Holderman; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Katherine Barrett; his wife, Nora Barrett; his sisters, Kate Barrett, Nondus Barrett, and Josephine Barrett; and his brothers, Raymond Barrett and Stephen Barrett.

The family will receive visitors from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 10, 2026, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 820 West Madison Street, Alexandria, Indiana.

A service celebrating Lester’s life will begin immediately following the visitation. Burial will take place at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Alexandria, Indiana.

Private cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Whetsel Funeral Service, 1503 South Park Avenue, Alexandria, Indiana.
