Mark A. Elsworth, 77, of Alexandria, Indiana, passed away on March 17, 2026, at Community Hospital Anderson in Anderson, Indiana.
Mark was born on February 25, 1949, to Donnel and Lois Jean (Donaldson) Elsworth. He graduated from Wendell Willkie High School and later attended Ivy Tech Community College. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and proudly served his country in the United States Army.
On October 3, 1980, Mark married Toni Swift Elsworth. He loved his wife immensely, and they shared many years together before Toni preceded him in death on May 25, 2025.
Mark worked in the auto industry as a tool and die maker at Delco Remy in Anderson, Indiana, until his retirement in 2006. He enjoyed the simple and meaningful things in life. He loved hunting, fishing, boating, water skiing, and mushroom hunting. He cherished time spent with his grandchildren and even loved peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. He held his pilot's license and enjoyed flying with his father in the plane they owned together. He also earned his realtor license, reflecting his ambition and wide range of interests.
His spirit lives on in his cherished children: his son, Sean A. (Kristi Naylor) Elsworth, and Sean's sons, Mathew and Jacob; and his daughter, Erika Ann Voris, who, together with her husband, Josh, lovingly embraced their blended family of six: Donna Hobbs, Roark Hobbs, Quinlin Hobbs, Ellie Hunter, Kyleigh Voris, and Elena Voris.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donnel and Lois Jean Elsworth; his wife, Toni Elsworth; and his brother, Steve Elsworth.
Private cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Whetsel Funeral Service, 1503 S. Park Avenue, Alexandria, Indiana. Inurnment will take place at a later date in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Alexandria, Indiana.
Above all, Mark will be remembered for his love of family, his service to his country, and the joy he found in life's simple pleasures.
