Michael Ray Salyers, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on December 8, 2025, at Community Hospital Anderson. Born on July 24, 1952, in Elwood, Indiana, Michael lived a rich and faithful life, touching the hearts of all who knew him. He proudly served his country in the United States Army before dedicating more than 30 years of hard work and loyalty to Delco Remy in Anderson.
Michael had a lifelong passion for Harley-Davidson motorcycles, a love that brought him joy, friendship, and adventure. His spirit will continue to ride on in the many stories, memories, and moments shared by those who loved him most. He leaves behind a legacy of devotion, humor, and treasured memories that will be held close for years to come.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Judy Salyers; his children, Thomas (Candi) Salyers and Samantha (Dion) Blount; and his stepson, Glen (Kimberly) Gill. He is also survived by his brother, Monty (Jay) Salyers, his sister, Christy Wallace, and several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Salyers and Marribelle (Ryan) Mohler, stepfather, James Mohler, and stepson, Stephen Gill.
Funeral services to honor Michael’s life will be held on Monday, December 15, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Whetsel Funeral Service, 1503 S. Park Ave, Alexandria, IN. The family will receive visitors from 12:00 PM until the start of the service. Bud Whetsel will officiate as family and friends gather to celebrate Michael’s enduring legacy.
