Morris “Moe” Phillip Bailey passed away Sept. 26, 2022, after a brief illness.
Moe was a member of the Summitville High School class of 1955 and was a lifetime member
Of the Summitville United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Chamber of Commerce and was a boy scout leader.
Moe retired from General Motors after 34 ½ years if service and was the owner of Bailey and Sons Excavating and Memories Diner.
Moe enjoyed weekends camping, water skiing, and fishing with his wife and children. He was an avid traveler with his family. One of Moe’s proudest accomplishments of many was building a pond in his backyard so his children and grandchildren could fish.
Moe is survived by his wife of 64 years, Peggy Weller Bailey, his four children, Tamblyn K. (Ken) Thurston, Tony M. (Lisa) Bailey, Teresa J. (Randy) Bushman and Timothy O. (Teresa) Bailey. Nine grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Basil and Mary (Morris) Bailey and one grandson, Scott.
An informal (flannel shirts) Celebration of Life will be held on Sat. Oct. 8, 2022 at the Holiness Fellowship Hall, 17345 N 150 E, Summitville, IN 46070. Visitation will be at 4:00 p.m. and the service will be at 4:30 p.m. for family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Summitville Garden Club.
