Rhett Alvin Tankersley

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the brief yet deeply meaningful life of Rhett Alvin Tankersley, who was born on February 6, 2026, in Anderson, Indiana, and passed away the same day. Though his time on earth was all too short, Rhett was a precious baby boy whose presence will forever be cherished by those who loved him.

From the very beginning, Rhett was wrapped in his mommy's love. During the first trimester, she experienced no morning sickness and spent many quiet hours resting, already nurturing her sweet boy in ways only a mother can. As the second trimester came, she faced many sick days, each one met with strength, love, and devotion enduring it all for Rhett. Every moment of his life, both before and after birth, was filled with deep love and care.

Rhett is survived by his devoted parents, Colton and Josey Tankersley. He is also lovingly remembered by his paternal grandparents, Alvin and Sandra Yanez; several aunts and uncles; cousins; dear friends; and his beloved pets, Beinx, Fat Boy (Tom), Ollie, Remy, Scooby, and Sweetie, who were part of the home filled with love awaiting him. While his journey was short, his presence brought joy and left a lasting imprint on many hearts.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John and CJ Beeman.

In remembering his son, Rhett's daddy shares a simple, loving message: "Keep rockin', lil dude."

Private cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Whetsel Funeral Service, 1503 S. Park Avenue, Alexandria, Indiana.
