Rodney Dean Gorman Sr

Rodney Dean Gorman, Sr., age 75, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2026, at Elwood Health and Living in Elwood, Indiana.

Rodney was born on August 1, 1950, in Marion, Indiana, to Raymond and Helen Ramsey Gorman. He graduated from Alexandria-Monroe High School with the Class of 1968.

Rodney was a hard worker throughout his life. He was an electrician and worked for General Motors for more than 38 years before retiring in 2024. He also attended Christian Church in Columbia, Tennessee.

Rodney enjoyed working with model cars and liked showing vehicles. He was also an avid reader of Stephen King books and was always happy to share his extra copies with others. Rodney had a friendly nature and could make friends wherever he went.

He was also a talented gardener, especially when it came to growing "pickles," and he enjoyed maintaining several fish tanks over the years.

Rodney is survived by his children, Rodney (Jackie) Gorman, Jr., Dawn (Michael) Loveall, and Krystal Gorman; siblings, Linda (Phil) Ellis, Joy Toombs, Kim (Pam) Gorman, and Teena Stanley; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Helen Gorman; and his brother-in-law, David Toombs.

The family will receive visitors from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 19, 2026, at Whetsel Funeral Service, 1503 South Park Avenue, Alexandria, Indiana. Immediately following the visitation, a graveside service will be held at Park View Cemetery in Alexandria, Indiana.
