Toni Ann Swift Elsworth, age 68, of Alexandria, IN, departed from this world on May 25, 2025, in the comfort of her own home, leaving behind a legacy rich in love and resilience.
Born on November 20, 1956, Toni illuminated the lives of many as the fifth of seven children to Donald Wesley Swift, Sr. and Lavina Raye Hester Swift. A lifelong resident of Alexandria, she traversed her formative years in local schools and proudly graduated from Alexandria Monroe High School in May of 1974. Her thirst for knowledge led her to further her education at Ball State University, where she laid the foundation for a life dedicated to growth and service.
Toni's heart intertwined with Mark A. Elsworth's when they exchanged vows at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Elwood on October 3, 1980. Together, they nurtured a family that became the essence of her joy. Toni was a dedicated professional, contributing her talents to Janus Work Services Corporation for 17 years, and continuing her impactful journey for another 23 years at the Madison County Community Justice Center, retiring in 2022. A cherished Mary Kay consultant, she brought warmth and connection to many, forging friendships that would last a lifetime.
Her spirit lives on in her beloved husband, Mark, and their two cherished children: son Sean A. Elsworth, who fills her heart with joy alongside his sons Mathew and Jacob, and daughter Erika Ann Elsworth Voris, who, along with her husband Josh, embraced their blended family of six—each child a vibrant thread in the tapestry of Toni's legacy: Donna Hobbs, Roark Hobbs, Quinlin Hobbs, Ellie Hunter, Kyleigh Voris, and Elena Voris. Toni's love further extends to her siblings, Donald W. Swift Jr., Gary W. Swift and wife Betty Adams Swift, Jeffrey R. Swift and wife Susan Oliver Swift, Sandra K. Swift Freestone, Marcia N. Swift Mauer, and Leslie Jo Swift and wife Terry Hill-Swift, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews who reverberate her compassion.
Toni now rests with her parents, Donald and Lavina Swift, as well as dear family members who preceded her in death: sister-in-law Mary Lynn Cole Swift, brothers-in-law Greg Freestone and John Mauer, along with her in-laws, Don and Lois Jean Elsworth.
A remarkable sister, devoted wife, nurturing mother, loving aunt, and steadfast friend, Toni's light became a beacon for those in need, capable of illuminating the darkest of rooms with her infectious energy and warmth. She will be profoundly missed by all whose lives she touched, leaving behind a beautiful imprint that will endure in their hearts forever.
